Title 38 › Part PART II— - GENERAL BENEFITS › Chapter CHAPTER 20— - BENEFITS FOR HOMELESS VETERANS › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER III— - TRAINING AND OUTREACH › § 2021A
The Secretary of Labor must give grants, if funds are available, to programs that serve homeless women veterans and homeless veterans who have children. The grants pay for job training, counseling, job placement (including job readiness, reading and skills training), and child care to help these veterans rejoin the workforce. The program is run by the Assistant Secretary for Veterans’ Employment and Training. The Secretary must collect outcome data for each veteran to track spending and results and must include an evaluation in the report required under section 2021(h)(1). Congress authorized $1,000,000 per year for fiscal years 2011 through 2026. Funds remain available until spent, and money obligated in one fiscal year may be spent that year or the next.
