Title 38 › Part PART III— - READJUSTMENT AND RELATED BENEFITS › Chapter CHAPTER 32— - POST-VIETNAM ERA VETERANS’ EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER III— - ENTITLEMENT; DURATION › § 3234
People who qualify for benefits here also get the same tutorial help that eligible veterans get, and they must meet the same rules. Any money paid for this tutorial help is on top of other benefits they get under the chapter. Only the part of the tutorial help over $600 counts against a person’s education benefit time. For each amount of excess equal to the person’s usual full‑time monthly education payment, one month of entitlement is used. The first $600 is paid from VA readjustment benefit funds. Any amount over $600 is paid from the education fund made up of contributions by the veteran and the Secretary of Defense, split the same way as other education payments.
