The Department of Defense must quickly send any money taken from a participant’s military pay to the Secretary so it can go into the fund. Each month the Secretary of Defense must give the Secretary a report with each initial enrollee’s name, service number, amount taken from pay, any Secretary of Defense contribution under section 3222(c), changes in enrollment or contribution, and any other information the two Secretaries need. The Secretary must keep accounts that show what each person and the Secretary of Defense put into the fund and what benefits were paid out.
