Community development financial institution and tribally designated housing entity are defined by other federal laws. Indian Tribe means any tribe, band, nation, or Alaska Native group the United States recognizes for Indian programs. Native community development financial institution is a Treasury-certified lender that is at least 51 percent Native-owned or controlled and whose activities are at least 51 percent for Native people.
