The Secretary must set up a special medical advisory group to give advice to the Secretary and the Under Secretary for Health about care for disabled veterans and other Administration matters. The Secretary appoints members based on the Under Secretary’s recommendation. The group will include medical and related professionals, other people with useful experience, and one disabled veteran. The group must meet regularly as the Secretary decides. Member numbers, terms, pay, and expenses follow existing law. By February 1 each year it must send a report to the Secretary and to Congress about the previous fiscal year. No report is required after December 31, 2004.
