Title 38 › Part PART V— - BOARDS, ADMINISTRATIONS, AND SERVICES › Chapter CHAPTER 76— - HEALTH PROFESSIONALS EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER VI— - EMPLOYEE INCENTIVE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM › § 7673
Provides scholarships to Program participants that pay tuition (or part of it) and other reasonable school costs for a school year, like fees, books, and lab expenses. For a full-time student, the scholarship for one school-year worth of full-time work can be no more than $10,000. A part-time student gets a smaller amount based on how much coursework they take compared with full-time. Scholarships can be paid for up to six school years in total, but a participant cannot get more than the equivalent of three years of full-time coursework. The Secretary may arrange to pay the school directly and may do so without regard to subsections (a) and (b) of section 3324 of title 31. Full-time means 30 semester hours per undergraduate school year or 18 semester hours per graduate school year.
