Laws in this chapter do not cancel or change other laws that let the United States accept gifts, wills, or bequests for its own use or for a purpose the donor named. If the United States receives property that seems meant to help the people described in section 8301, or a hospital or similar institution run mainly for them, the property or the money from it must be put into the General Post Fund and used under the rules of this chapter.
