Summary

The Commission must study and plan visitor/student facilities in the Nation’s Capital and advise the Interior Secretary and GSA Administrator on planning, building, buying, and operating them. The National Park Service (NPS) Director, with the Administrator, must provide staff and facilities to help.

Title 40, §6922

(a)The National Visitor Facilities Advisory Commission shall—
(1)conduct continuing investigations and studies of sites and plans to provide additional facilities and services for visitors and students coming to the Nation’s Capital; and
(2)advise the Secretary of the Interior and the Administrator of General Services on the planning, construction, acquisition, and operation of those visitor facilities.
(b)The Director of the National Park Service, in consultation with the Administrator, shall provide the necessary staff and facilities to assist the Commission in carrying out its duties under this subchapter.
