Summary
Members of the Board must be paid the daily rate that applies to Level III of the Executive Schedule for every day they work, including time spent traveling. They may also be reimbursed for travel costs, including a per diem for meals and lodging, under the same rules set out in title 5, sections 5702 and 5703.

Title 42, §10265
The Public Health and Welfare — Source: USLM XML via OLRC
(a)Each member of the Board shall be paid at the rate of pay payable for level III of the Executive Schedule for each day (including travel time) such member is engaged in the work of the Board.
(b)Each member of the Board may receive travel expenses, including per diem in lieu of subsistence, in the same manner as is permitted under section 5702 and 5703 of title 5.
