Boards of Medical Examiners must tell the federal Secretary when they take away, suspend, limit, censure, reprimand, put on probation, or accept the surrender of a doctor’s license for reasons about the doctor’s professional skill or conduct. The board must give the doctor’s name, a description of the acts or reasons if known, and any other details the Secretary asks for. If a board does not report after being notified and given a chance to fix the problem, the Secretary will pick another qualified group to make the reports required under section 11133.
