Title 42 › Chapter CHAPTER 129— - NATIONAL AND COMMUNITY SERVICE › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER I— - NATIONAL AND COMMUNITY SERVICE STATE GRANT PROGRAM › Part Part II— - Application and Approval Process › § 12581a
Each year, from the money Congress provides for national service, the Corporation can give fixed-amount grants to help run programs that have approved national service positions but do not get other grant funds. Each grant can be up to $800 for each person in an approved position, or up to $1,000 per person if at least 50% of the people in the program are disadvantaged youth. Programs funded this way do not have to follow the usual limits on administrative costs, the usual matching-money rules, or the rules that require living allowances and some other benefits — but they must still provide individualized support services for participants with disabilities.
