Federal officials may not force a state, school district, or school to use a specific curriculum, change how it teaches, or make it spend local money for things that this law does not pay for. A state does not have to get the federal government to approve or certify its academic content or student achievement standards to get help under this law. Any money given to the Corporation under this law cannot be used to endorse, approve, or officially back any curriculum for elementary or secondary schools.
