Summary

Grants can pay for project-based rental help or to build single room occupancy housing, and, as much as possible, the program must follow the rules in section 1437f(n). Recipients must make sure people who get help also receive local services from qualified providers, and if someone has AIDS or a related disease and needs more care than the housing can give, find and refer an appropriate care provider.

(a)Grants under this section may be used to provide project-based rental assistance or grants to facilitate the development of single room occupancy dwellings. To the extent practicable, a program under this section shall be carried out in the manner provided for under section 1437f(n) 11 See References in Text note below. of this title.

(b)Recipients under this section shall require the provision to individuals assisted under this section of the following assistance:

(1)Appropriate services provided by qualified service providers in the area.

(2)For any individual with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome or related diseases who requires more care than can be provided in housing assisted under this section, locating a care provider who can appropriately care for the individual and referral of the individual to the care provider.
