It makes it a crime to use force, threats (like threatening letters or messages), or corrupt actions to scare, stop, or block a Social Security Administration officer, employee, contractor, state disability worker, or anyone the Commissioner names from doing their official job under this law, or to otherwise interfere with carrying out this law. The penalty can be a fine up to $5,000, imprisonment up to 3 years, or both. If the act is only threats of force, the fine can be up to $3,000, imprisonment up to 1 year, or both. "Threats of force" means threats to harm the worker, contractor, or their family.
