People applying for federally assisted housing may include a family member’s, friend’s, or support organization's name, address, phone, and other relevant contact info on their application. The housing owner must keep that info private and keep it for tenants so the owner can contact those people to help with services, special care, or tenancy problems. Owners may not force applicants to provide this contact information.
