The Secretary of Housing and Urban Development can make rules when the government buys land for a defense installation or industry and people are or will be forced to leave their homes. Those rules can let displaced people live in or buy housing with eased credit rules under the Defense Production Act of 1950 (50 U.S.C. 4501 et seq.) or housing provided or helped under this Act, and the Secretary can set any conditions needed for national defense, even if other laws say otherwise.
