Summary

Holding companies and their related companies must keep books and records and must give them to the Commission when the Commission says those records are relevant to costs of any public utility or natural gas company they are connected to and are needed to protect customers’ rates. The Commission may also inspect the books and records of any company in the holding company system for the same reason. Commission staff must keep information they learn in these examinations secret unless the Commission or a court orders otherwise.
