A person convicted of a subversive act against the United States or its Allies after May 27, 1941, is barred from compensation or benefits under subchapter I, including death/detention pay. Benefits are suspended when charged until charges are dropped or the person is acquitted. Conviction or death before decision means they lose payments; withdrawal or acquittal requires paying withheld amounts.
