Title 42 › Chapter CHAPTER 15A— - RECIPROCAL FIRE PROTECTION AGREEMENTS › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER I— - PROTECTION OF UNITED STATES PROPERTY › § 1856a
Agency heads who are responsible for protecting U.S. property can make mutual aid agreements with nearby fire groups. These deals let them help each other protect that property and other places the fire group normally serves. Each party must give up any claims against the others for money for loss, damage, personal injury, or death that happen because of carrying out the agreement. The deals can also say one party will pay back some or all costs it incurs while protecting another. Agreements like this made earlier are approved now, if they would have been allowed under this law when they were made.
