Title 42 › Chapter CHAPTER 16B— - CONTRACTS FOR SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNOLOGICAL RESEARCH › § 1900
The Secretary of the Interior can make contracts with colleges, public or private agencies, organizations, or people to do scientific or technical research tied to Interior Department programs set by law. Before contracting, the Secretary must get proof they can do the work well. He must guide and coordinate the research, point out key questions, and help groups work together, including with other federal agencies. The Secretary may publish and share reports or other information about the research with agencies, organizations, or individuals.
