When giving awards under the Foundation’s sensor systems and networked systems programs, the Director must include work on sensor connectivity where networks and computing are spotty. That work must aim to make sensing systems more reliable in rural and farm areas and must address local data access, weaker or lost signals, and how wireless power works at scale. Not later than 18 months after August 9, 2022, the Comptroller General must produce a technology assessment and a review of federal programs that existed on August 9, 2022.
