Title 42 › Chapter CHAPTER 23— - DEVELOPMENT AND CONTROL OF ATOMIC ENERGY › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER III— - RESEARCH › § 2053
For international research projects, "private facilities or laboratories" means facilities in the United States. If U.S. private labs are not good enough, the Commission may use its own labs to do energy-related studies and work for other people. If the Commission’s equipment or expertise can help public health or safety, it may also do research, development, or training for others. The Commission can charge fees it finds appropriate for these services.
