Title 42 › Chapter CHAPTER 24— - DISPOSAL OF ATOMIC ENERGY COMMUNITIES › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER IV— - SALES OF PROPERTY FOR PRIVATE USE › § 2342
The Commission must offer to sell or transfer all land, buildings, and related equipment in the community that it now leases or licenses for homes, businesses, farms, churches, or nonprofits, or that it thinks fits those uses. It does not have to offer buildings it wants removed for poor condition, property meant to go under subchapters VI or VII, or property it will keep. The Commission may also choose to dispose of other property but is not required to. Any sale or transfer must follow the rules in this subchapter, be done in the national interest, not give special treatment unless the chapter allows it, and must not hurt existing leases, agreements, or purchase rights.
