Title 42 › Chapter CHAPTER 6A— - PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICE › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER II— - GENERAL POWERS AND DUTIES › Part Part B— - Federal-State Cooperation › § 247b–10
The Secretary, through the CDC Director, must run local asthma tracking to collect data on how common asthma is, how severe it is, and how well it is being managed. Each year the CDC must gather and publish how many children have asthma in each State and, when possible, publish the national childhood asthma death rate. The CDC Director must report on these tracking activities at every National Asthma Education Prevention Program Coordinating Committee meeting. The work can be done with groups that get grants under section 280g of this title, and money may be provided as needed for fiscal years 2001 through 2005.
