Summary

The Secretary of Health and Human Services, through the CDC’s National Center for Injury Prevention and Control, must award grants to groups like domestic and sexual assault coalitions, research organizations, tribal groups, and universities. The grants fund research on prevention and intervention programs to better understand sexual and domestic violence involving adults, youth, and children. The studies must evaluate what works best to reduce and prevent that violence, including strategies named in the HHS-related parts of this law and approaches for underserved communities. Congress authorized $1,000,000 to be appropriated for each fiscal year 2023 through 2027 to carry out this work.
