The Director of NIH must send a yearly report to the HHS Inspector General, the HHS Secretary, the House Committees on Energy and Commerce and Appropriations, and the Senate Committees on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions and Appropriations. The report must describe NIH actions on whistleblower complaints and, for each complaint still open that year, name which NIH agency is involved, give the complaint’s current status, and explain how it has been resolved so far. The first report must be submitted not later than 1 year after January 15, 2007.
