The Director of the Institute must set up the Clearinghouse on Alzheimer’s Disease to share information about services for people with Alzheimer’s and related dementias and their families. The Clearinghouse must collect, keep, and share information about research, demonstration, evaluation, and training programs, and each year must publish a summary of the information collected during the preceding 12-month period and make it available on request to schools, research groups, and government or public agencies. The Clearinghouse may charge a reasonable fee for information given through its toll-free phone line (established under subsection (a)(3)). The Director of the Institute, the Director of the National Institute of Mental Health, and the Director of the National Center for Health Services Research and Health Care Technology Assessment must send summaries of research findings done under part D to the Clearinghouse.
