The Secretary must also back research on children, including research gaps and funding plans, the pediatric role in the health system, system planning and preparedness, training, and medicine safety and effectiveness for infants, children, and adolescents. The Secretary must also support studies on the economic impact and savings from coordinated emergency care systems. Money can be appropriated as needed for each fiscal year 2010 through 2014.
