Title 42 › Chapter CHAPTER 6A— - PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICE › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER III–A— - SUBSTANCE ABUSE AND MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES ADMINISTRATION › Part Part D— - Miscellaneous Provisions Relating to Substance Abuse and Mental Health › § 290ee–2a
The Secretary must set up and run a National Peer-Run Training and Technical Assistance Center for Addiction Recovery Support. The Center will give help and training to recovery community organizations and peer support networks. That help includes training to spot substance use problems, information and resources for people and families, best ways to deliver recovery support, language and interpretation services, help collecting data for research, building capacity like training peer specialists and offering services outside clinics, and evaluating and improving services. The Secretary may also create one regional center to help the national Center with region-specific work. Within four years after December 1, 2025, the Secretary must review that regional center and report results to Congress, and the regional effort ends September 30, 2030. The law says up to $2,000,000 is allowed each year for fiscal years 2026–2030 to run the Center. The term “recovery community organization” is defined in section 290ee–2.
