Title 42 › Chapter CHAPTER 6A— - PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICE › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER V— - HEALTH PROFESSIONS EDUCATION › Part Part G— - General Provisions › § 295m
The Secretary cannot give a grant, loan guarantee, interest subsidy, or enter into a contract with certain health and related professional schools unless the school gives a satisfactory written promise that it will not discriminate based on sex when admitting students. This rule covers schools like medicine, osteopathic medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, optometry, pharmacy, podiatry, public health, allied health training centers, and graduate programs in clinical psychology. A note applies to any medical school that, on October 13, 1992, was changing from admitting only women to admitting people of any sex and was doing that under a plan the Secretary approved.
