By 18 months after June 19, 1986, the EPA must add new monitoring methods for Class I injection wells, including groundwater testing beyond what was used on November 1, 1985. EPA or an authorized State must use those tests where fluids might move toward underground drinking water so problems are found early. Class I wells are the type defined in 40 CFR 146.05 as of November 1, 1985.
