The Comptroller General must check whether federal lead-safety rules are being enforced and whether annual inspection procedures should change to find lead paint hazards in housing that gets help under subsections (b) and (o) of section 1437f. The Comptroller General must also study how easy it is for owners and workers to get liability insurance for lead-related work, look at past insurance responses to hazards like asbestos, review recent public housing insurance experience, and recommend ways to increase insurance availability for owners and contractors doing federally supported work.
