Summary

Organizations that get assistance under this part of the law may accept donations. These can be cash or in-kind gifts that are fairly valued, like plant, equipment, or services. But if the help is for running a specific activity, the organization cannot take donations from the people who benefit from that activity.

Title 42, §5027a

(a)Except as provided in subsection (b), an entity receiving assistance under this subchapter may accept donations, including donations in cash or in kind fairly evaluated, including plant, equipment, or services.
(b)An entity receiving assistance under this subchapter to carry out an activity shall not accept donations from the beneficiaries of the activity.
