The Director can give grants or make contracts with public or nonprofit groups, including groups funded under part A, B, or C, to try new ways of using older Americans as volunteers. The Director can fund volunteers who get small payments and volunteers who do not. A group that gets a grant or contract can use the money to link youth groups and older adults for volunteer work, place older volunteers in different kinds of programs than usual, and test whether older volunteer programs can help meet new goals or national priorities.
