Title 42 › Chapter CHAPTER 7— - SOCIAL SECURITY › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER IV— - GRANTS TO STATES FOR AID AND SERVICES TO NEEDY FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN AND FOR CHILD-WELFARE SERVICES › Part Part A— - Block Grants to States for Temporary Assistance for Needy Families › § 608a
If a person's income-based welfare or public assistance is cut because they committed fraud, they can't get a bigger benefit from any other federal income-based welfare or public assistance program while that cut lasts. That rule covers increases that happen only because their income went down because of the reduction. Covered programs include the Food Stamp program (Food Stamp Act of 1977, 7 U.S.C. 2011 et seq.), public or assisted housing under title I of the United States Housing Act of 1937 (42 U.S.C. 1437 et seq.), and State programs funded under this part.
