Summary

The Secretary of Energy must create partnerships between the Advanced Manufacturing Office and other DOE programs. These teams will use other programs’ research skills to help develop early-stage energy-saving technologies, support new manufacturing methods and applied research to improve efficiency (including water use), cut emissions and waste, and make industry more cost-competitive. Within 2 years after December 18, 2012, and every two years after that, the Secretary must send Congress a report on what was done and the results.
