Title 42 › Chapter CHAPTER 84— - DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER VI— - ADMINISTRATIVE PROVISIONS › Part Part C— - General Administrative Provisions › § 7274l
The Secretary of Energy may sell or transfer DOE property at a facility that is closing or being changed to anyone if the Secretary finds the transfer will help reduce the local economic harm from the closure. The Secretary can accept less than the property's fair market value if that still meets the goal. The Secretary may add conditions to protect the United States. Covered property includes equipment and personal items the Department no longer needs, and other items whose replacement would cost no more than 110% of the cost to move them to another DOE site.
