The President must help anyone who asks for help under the compensation program. That help includes arranging medical tests and diagnoses needed to prove a covered beryllium illness, chronic silicosis, or cancer, and any other help needed to gather facts for a claim. The President must also tell covered employees and other people who might file claims about the program and help them apply. That means making claim forms easy to get on paper and online, giving medical testing rules and lists of approved labs, and offering other support to develop a claim. When the President asks and the law allows, the Secretary of Energy must require beryllium suppliers or DOE contractors and subcontractors to give the President any information relevant to a claim.
