The Secretary must set up an Interagency Energy Management Task Force to help a federal interagency committee coordinate energy-saving work and share federal experience with others. The Task Force will be made up of the chief energy managers from the agencies on that committee. It must meet when the Secretary asks, but at least twice a year. The Task Force will check agency progress, gather and share practical information on surveys, efficiency methods, incentive programs (under section 8256), contracting (under subchapter VII), cogeneration and renewables, and other helpful technologies. It will coordinate agency surveys, develop conservation options, report to the committee, and sometimes review building temperature rules to see if changes are needed to meet the goals in section 8253.
