Title 42 › Chapter CHAPTER 105— - COMMUNITY SERVICES PROGRAMS › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER II–C— - CHILD CARE SAFETY AND HEALTH GRANTS › § 9859e
If a State gets money under this program, it must spend it on at least two different activities from a list of nine. The options include training child care providers on health and injury prevention; improving, enforcing, or helping providers meet licensing or registration rules (including fixing facilities and doing more surprise inspections); giving health consultants; helping providers serve children with disabilities; running criminal background checks; giving parents safety information; and making child-transportation safer. The money must add to other federal, State, and local public funds used for these services. It cannot replace those other public funds.
