Title 43 › Chapter CHAPTER 31— - DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR › § 1460
The Secretary of the Interior or its officers can give copies of official books, papers, maps, and similar documents when doing so won't harm the government's interests. They may charge the cost to make and handle the copies as set by the Secretary or designated staff, plus 25 cents for each certified (authenticated) copy. No charge is made for copies needed by government officers. Authenticated copies of rules printed for free distribution cost 25 cents. Money collected must be deposited in the U.S. Treasury and credited to the current appropriation that pays for making those copies.
