Title 43 › Chapter CHAPTER 46— - GEOSPATIAL DATA › § 2804
Require a national system that makes geospatial data from Federal, State, local, tribal, private, and college sources easy to find and combine to better understand the physical and cultural world. The system must cover privacy review (including checking for re‑identification risk), improve data accuracy, allow public access under OMB rules, protect licensed proprietary data, support interoperable federal systems, and help build a global spatial data system using international voluntary standards where security and trade allow. The Committee must keep a strategic plan for building and running the system that fits national security, defense, and emergency plans. The Committee must also advise Federal and non‑Federal users about their responsibilities for using and sharing the data.
