Title 43 › Chapter CHAPTER 12— - RECLAMATION AND IRRIGATION OF LANDS BY FEDERAL GOVERNMENT › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER VI— - WATER RIGHT APPLICATIONS AND LAND ENTRIES › § 435
People who took land in a reclamation project that has more than one farm unit must shrink their claim so it matches just one farm unit. They must do that within two years after they show they live on, improved, and farm the land, or within two years after a farm-unit map is issued if that comes later. The proof must be made within four years after the Secretary of the Interior says water is available. If they do not give up the extra land in time, the extra part can be canceled. If they follow the rules, they can get a patent for the part that matches one farm unit.
