Title 43 › Chapter CHAPTER 12B— - COLORADO RIVER STORAGE PROJECT › § 620d–1
The Colorado River Development Fund must repay the Upper Colorado River Basin Fund for money used to make up for lost power at Hoover Dam while storage units were being filled under the Glen Canyon Reservoir filling rules (27 Fed. Reg. 6851, July 19, 1962). Each year Hoover Dam and its powerplant operate, starting with fiscal year 1970, $500,000 must be transferred from the Colorado River Development Fund into the Upper Colorado River Basin Fund instead of being used for the other purposes listed in section 618a(d). Those yearly transfers continue until the repayment is complete. If any balance remains on June 1, 1987, the leftover amount must be transferred from the Lower Colorado River Basin Development Fund as provided in section 1543(g).
