Unentered public land taxed by an irrigation district can't be sold for taxes; the tax stays attached and one person may enter no more than 160 acres. After the Secretary of the Interior approves, homestead or desert‑land applications are suspended 30 days to allow a certificate proving no unpaid district charges.
