Title 43 › Chapter CHAPTER 17— - RESERVATION AND SALE OF TOWN SITES ON PUBLIC LANDS › § 737
Trustees with a patent for a townsite under 732 or 735 must give an Alaska Native who claims and occupies land there an unrestricted deed if the Secretary (or a representative) finds them able to manage their affairs and they ask. After that, sale, mortgage, and tax restrictions end, but the land can still be used to pay federal debts contracted before the deed.
