Summary

The Secretary of Agriculture must send and print the annual report in two parts. Part 1 is the business and executive material for the President and Congress. Part 2 contains reports from bureaus and special agents, a general report on department operations, and illustrations the Secretary thinks will interest and teach farmers. In addition to usual copies, print for part 1: 1,000 for the Senate, 2,000 for the House of Representatives, and 3,000 for the Department of Agriculture; for part 2: 110,000 for the Senate, 360,000 for the House of Representatives, and 30,000 for the Department of Agriculture. Part 2 illustrations must be approved by the Secretary and produced under the Director of the Government Publishing Office following directions of the Joint Committee on Printing, and each part’s title must show it is complete on its own.

The annual report of the Secretary of Agriculture shall be submitted and printed in two parts, as follows: part 1, containing purely business and executive matter necessary for the Secretary to submit to the President and Congress; part 2, reports from the different bureaus and divisions, and papers prepared by their special agents, accompanied by suitable illustrations as are, in the opinion of the Secretary, specially suited to interest and instruct the farmers of the country, and to include a general report of the operations of the department for their information. In addition to the usual number, there shall be printed of part 1, one thousand copies for the Senate, two thousand copies for the House of Representatives, and three thousand copies for the Department of Agriculture; and of part 2, one hundred and ten thousand copies for the use of the Senate, three hundred and sixty thousand copies for the use of the House of Representatives, and thirty thousand copies for the use of the Department of Agriculture, the illustrations for part 2 to be subject to the approval of the Secretary of Agriculture, and executed under the supervision of the Director of the Government Publishing Office, in accordance with directions of the Joint Committee on Printing, and the title of each of the parts shall show that each part is complete in itself.
