To carry out its work under section 2703, the Committee—or a subcommittee or member if the Committee allows—can hold hearings, meet when and where needed, take testimony from witnesses, and collect evidence. The Committee can also ask any federal department or agency for information it needs for that work. If the Committee’s chair requests it, the head of the department or agency must provide the information.
