Title 45 › Chapter CHAPTER 9— - RETIREMENT OF RAILROAD EMPLOYEES › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER IV— - RAILROAD RETIREMENT ACT OF 1974 › § 231j
You can give up all or part of an annuity (a regular payment) you were awarded under this part by signing and filing a waiver with the Board. You can cancel that written waiver at any time, but you will not get payments for any period when the waiver was in effect, and giving up the payment does not change your right to, or the amount of, any other annuity or benefit.
