Summary

The Secretary may investigate and inspect to see if people and companies follow this law and its rules. The Secretary can issue subpoenas to make witnesses come or to get documents and other evidence, but only after asking the Attorney General whether the subpoena is reasonable and would interfere with a criminal investigation. If the Attorney General approves or does not decide within 30 days, the Secretary may issue the subpoena. If someone refuses to obey a subpoena, the Secretary can ask a U.S. district court to force them to comply.
